What this sweatshirt is like

It is a Gildan 18000 with a crew neck: no hood, no drawstring, no pocket. It is the classic sweatshirt, the one you put on over a T-shirt and under a coat, and the only one of the three warm layers that gets through an office without looking like something you wear at home. The collar, the cuffs and the waistband are 1×1 rib with elastane, so they go back to shape when you take it off.

With no kangaroo pocket and no drawstring, the chest is clean from top to bottom. Of all the garments in the catalogue, this is the one where the drawing shows whole, with nothing in front to break it up: if the design has fine detail —a spiral, a seal, a loom—, this is where you can see it without having to blow it up.

Half cotton, half polyester: the blend is what keeps it from losing its shape after a whole winter of washes. Inside out, at 30 °C and dried on low, because strong heat is what shrinks the ribbing. It goes from S to 5XL. In white the fabric leans towards bone rather than pure white; that is the blend, not a printing fault.

The drawing on «Los Cárpatos»

The pass at night: two ridges wedged into each other, the firs climbing the hillside, the moon in its quarter and, on the crest, the castle with a single lit window. They are mountains, which is what the word means.

Where this drawing comes from

One lit window up on the ridge and nothing else. Everything frightening in the first chapter of Stoker's novel happens before you reach the castle.

Clean chest and a horizontal drawing: the ridge crosses whole from seam to seam, with no drawstring falling over it and no pocket cutting off the foot of the mountain. The lit window sits at breastbone height, which is where whoever is in front of you will look first.

Sizes: measurements, where each one is made and what it costs

Measurements of the garment, not of your body. Take one that fits you the way you like, lay it flat and measure: the width from seam to seam below the sleeve, and the length from the highest point of the shoulder down to the hem. These are the ones the factory itself publishes, in centimetres.

What you ask us before buying

Why can't you see the whole castle?
Because everything frightening at the start of Stoker's novel happens before you get there: the road climbing, the wolves and a light up above. A lit window on the crest tells that journey; drawing the building would spoil it.
Does it have a hood or a pocket?
Neither of the two: it is a crew neck and the chest is clean. If you are after a hood and a kangaroo pocket, the same design is there on the hoodie, which has a two-layer lined hood with a drawstring and a kangaroo pocket at the front.
Does it shrink or lose its shape?
Not much: it is half cotton and half polyester, and that blend is exactly what takes the washes without going baggy at the cuffs. What does ruin it is a hot dryer, so dry it on low or straight in the air.
How long does it really take?
