What this premium T-shirt is like

It is a Bella + Canvas 3001 in combed, ring-spun cotton, 142 gsm. That is fine fabric: the T-shirt you wear on its own in summer and under something the rest of the year, the one that does not bulk up under a shirt. The cut is unisex and straight, with a side seam and shoulder-to-shoulder taping, which is what keeps the neck from going wavy after ten washes.

The drawing goes on one side only, on the chest, printed straight onto the fabric with water-based inks. It is not a vinyl stuck on top: you cannot feel it when you run your hand over it, it does not crackle when you fold it and it has no edge for it to start peeling from. In exchange the ink lives inside the cotton and ages with it, so after many washes it loses a shade of black, like any well-made printed T-shirt.

Inside out, at 30 °C, no bleach, and never iron over the print. Of the whole catalogue this is the piece that will go through the washing machine most often, and that is why it is the one that gains most from those three rules. Being a light fabric, it can be slightly sheer in white and in light colours: if you want more body, the same design is there on a sweatshirt.

The drawing on «Orlok»

Count Orlok as a bust: a bald, elongated skull, pointed ears, sunken sockets, the two central rat incisors —not side fangs— and the high collar of the coat.

Where this drawing comes from

The teeth are in the middle, like a rat's, and not at the sides like the drawing-room vampire's. That detail is an invention of the 1922 film and is not in the novel.

The silent film F. W. Murnau shot for Prana-Film in 1922, with Max Schreck in the part. The bald, big-eared vampire with sharpened central incisors was invented on that shoot: it appears nowhere in Stoker's 1897 novel, and that is why the figure is in the public domain.

What you ask us before buying

Why are the teeth in the middle?
Because they are rodent incisors, not the fangs of a drawing-room vampire. That detail is an invention of the 1922 silent film and is not in the novel it comes from: it is what tells this figure apart from any other vampire ever drawn.
How does this T-shirt run?
It is a straight unisex cut, not fitted. If you like it snug, take your size; if you want it loose, go up one. The measurements in the table are of the garment laid flat, not of your body: the way to get it right is to measure a T-shirt of your own that already fits the way you want.
Does the print peel off?
There is nothing to peel off: the ink is printed straight onto the cotton, water-based, so there is no edge that can lift. What it does do over the years is lighten a touch. Washing it inside out at 30 °C is what holds that back most.
How long does it really take?
De 3 a 4 working days, printing and shipping included — the same lead time the rest of the site gives, because there is only one. The piece is made in the European Union, and that is where the lead time comes from. Above, over the button, you have the exact date for this one. The table below says where each size is made.
How much is shipping?
The page itself says so, above the button, before you pay and for whichever destination you pick in the dropdown. To Spain it is 4.29 €. The amount comes from the same rate the checkout charges, not from a separate list.
Can it be returned?
Yes. You have 14 days to withdraw without giving reasons — it is not a personalised product, so the right of withdrawal covers you — and 3 years of legal guarantee. If it arrives faulty or badly printed, we redo it or give you your money back. How it is made.
