What this women's T-shirt is like

It is a Bella + Canvas 6400, the women's pattern from the same house as the unisex and with the same weight of 142 gsm. The fabric depends on the colour: in black, navy and white it is combed, ring-spun cotton; the anthracite is a heather and carries 52% cotton and 48% polyester, which is what gives it that speckled grey. What changes from the unisex is the cut: crew neck, narrower shoulder, side seam and a length meant to stop at the hip. It is a relaxed cut, not a fitted one; if you want it to hug, take one size down.

The print goes straight onto the garment with water-based inks, on pre-washed fabric, exactly as on the unisex one. What is not the same is the canvas: the cut is shorter and narrower, so the same drawing takes up proportionally more chest and reads bigger than it does on the unisex T-shirt of the same design.

Inside out, at 30 °C, no bleach, and keep the iron off the print. It runs from S to 2XL. It is a fine 142 gsm knit, so in white and in light colours count on it being slightly sheer. The measurements in the table below are those of this garment laid flat, not those of the unisex pattern: the other one's do not apply.

The framed plate of a marine reptile: long neck, four paddle flippers, barrel body and the plate caption hinted at underneath, as in the popular science plates of the 19th century.

Where this drawing comes from

It is a plate inside a plate: what gets printed is the popular science plate with its caption hinted at underneath, not the animal cut out. It is about showing how a plesiosaur was shown in 1854, not about showing a plesiosaur.

The women's cut is shorter and narrower, and this plate is landscape: here the rectangle takes up almost the whole width of the chest and the marine reptile reads a good deal bigger than on the unisex T-shirt with the same design. If you have seen both and this one looked like something else, that is why: the same drawing with less canvas around it.

Benjamin Waterhouse Hawkins sculpted the dinosaurs and antediluvian reptiles of the Crystal Palace at Sydenham, unveiled in 1854, and drew the comparative plates used to explain them to the public. The plesiosaur reconstruction follows the one Richard Owen dictated to him for those models: this is how the remote past was imagined before a single film with a dinosaur in it existed.

Sizes: measurements, where each one is made and what it costs

What animal is it exactly?
A plesiosaur, and reconstructed the way it was reconstructed in 1854: the version Richard Owen dictated to Benjamin Waterhouse Hawkins for the Crystal Palace models at Sydenham. Today we know the neck did not go like that. The drawing shows how the remote past used to be shown, not how it was.
Is it the same T-shirt as the unisex one?
The weight yes —142 gsm both of them—, the pattern no, and the fabric not in every colour either: the unisex one is 100% cotton in the four colours we sell, and here the anthracite is a heather with 48% polyester. This one is the Bella + Canvas 6400: crew neck, women's fit, narrower shoulder and hip length. Anyone after room usually prefers the unisex; anyone who does not want it hanging off the shoulder, this one.
Can I trust the size I take in the unisex?
Not quite: they are two different cuts and the measurements in the chart change. Lay flat a women's T-shirt you already own, measure it and compare it with the width column, which is where the difference between the two patterns shows most.
How long does it really take?
