What this hoodie is like

It is a Gildan 18500: 271 gsm, a two-layer lined hood with a matching drawstring and a kangaroo pocket at the front. It is the only garment in the catalogue with a hood, the one that handles mid-season on its own and goes under the down jacket in January. It is also, by some distance, the one that most often ends up being given as a present.

The kangaroo pocket and the drawstring take chest away from the drawing: the print sits above the pocket, on the top half, which is the continuous surface the garment has. It is a real limitation and better said before than after: if what you want is to see the whole design, the crew neck sweatshirt gives it to you with nothing in front, and the print gives it at wall size.

Inside out, at 30 °C and dried on low. The hood and the cuffs take a good deal longer to dry than the rest, and rushing them with a hot dryer is exactly what ends up shrinking the ribbing. It goes from S to 5XL. In white it leans towards off-white, because of the cotton and polyester blend.

Where this drawing comes from

It is not a symbol invented for the drawing: the Ars Goetia carries seventy-two seals, one per demon, and they all share that same grammar of circle, triangle and strokes that end in a mark.

A round seal fits whole above the kangaroo pocket with nothing to trim off it: of the whole catalogue it is one of the designs that loses least on this garment. It comes out smaller than on the crew neck sweatshirt, but complete and centred, which on a symmetrical symbol is the one thing you cannot negotiate.

«Lemegeton Clavicula Salomonis», first book —the «Ars Goetia»—, in manuscript copies from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, printed by Mathers and Crowley in London in 1904 with the plates of the seals. Measurements of the garment, not of your body. Take one that fits you the way you like, lay it flat and measure: the width from seam to seam below the sleeve, and the length from the highest point of the shoulder down to the hem. These are the ones the factory itself publishes, in centimetres.

Does the seal mean anything or is it made up?
The Ars Goetia carries seventy-two seals, one for each demon in its catalogue, and they all share the same grammar of circle, triangle and finished-off strokes. The drawing follows that grammar: it is not an invented symbol dressed up as ancient.
Where does the drawing sit, with the pocket in front?
Above the kangaroo pocket, on the upper half of the chest, which is the only continuous surface on the garment. If you want it whole and with nothing in front of it, look at the crew neck sweatshirt or the print of the same design.
Is it really warm or is it a thin sweatshirt?
271 gsm and a hood lined in two layers: thin it is not. What we cannot tell you is how much warmer it is than the crew neck one: Printful publishes the weight of this one and does not publish the other, and we are not going to invent the difference.
How long does it really take?
3 to 4 working days, printing and shipping included — the same lead time the rest of the site gives, because there is only one. How much is shipping?
