Where the design comes from

Moby Dick y el cachalote blanco · Herman Melville (1819-1891); el libro de Jonás, anónimo · 1851; el libro de Jonás, siglos V-IV a. C. (datación discutida). En 1820 un cachalote hundió de verdad un ballenero, y treinta y un años después Melville convirtió aquel accidente en la novela que fijó cómo imaginamos una ballena.
