Where the design comes from

Roses, bears and boars · Heraldos anónimos de los siglos XIV y XV; John Rous y el llamado Maestro de Caxton en los manuscritos; Charles Boutell, Arthur Charles Fox-Davies y Graham Johnston en los grabados modernos · Siglos XIV-XV (láminas impresas entre 1863 y 1909). Ni se llamó así en su momento ni las rosas fueron lo importante. La Guerra de las Dos Rosas dejó el catálogo de emblemas más raro de la Inglaterra medieval: un jabalí blanco, un oso atado a un bastón lleno de muñones, un halcón encerrado en un grillete.
