Robin Hood: Men in Tights

Film

Robin Hood and Lincoln Green

Real Lincoln green — cloth dyed first with woad and then with weld — a yew longbow, a hunting horn, a hood with its shoulder cape, and Friar Tuck's habit and tonsure. The centrepiece is the prize arrow from the shooting match, described in the Gest with a shaft of white silver and a head and fletching of red gold. And two scenes that are objects before they are symbols: the bleeding at Kirklees Priory and the last arrow, loosed through a window to mark where he is to be buried.
